In response to reports that "the Armed Forces are unable to dispatch additional transport aircraft to help out with passenger transportation," the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (13th) that based on regulations, the Armed Forces would have to complete a combat readiness duty rotation and vacation planning at all levels during the period of the "President and Legislator Election." The Armed Forces also needed to implement combat readiness troop handover at 12:00 on the day of the election.
The MND explained that the adjustments of relevant manpower were made based on the principle of taking combat readiness and voting rights of servicemen into account, hence why it was unable to support the transportation mission request put forth by the Civil Aviation Administration at short notice.
